Scottish and Southern Energy plc (“SSE) has been granted consent by Scottish Ministers to develop in southern Scotland a wind farm with a total capacity of up to 456MW. This wind farm will be built in two phases and, on completion will be the largest onshore wind farm in Europe.
Airtricity today announced that it has signed a joint venture agreement with Italian wind farm development company Entropya. Under the terms of the agreement, Airtricity owns 60% of the joint venture partnership and Entropya owns 40%.
Airtricity has today announced that construction of the 504MW Greater Gabbard offshore wind farm will begin shortly. Once completed this will be the world’s largest offshore wind farm
Dublin 15th February 2008. In January Airtricity announced that it had reached a definitive agreement to sell Airtricity to Scottish and Southern Energy Plc (“SSE”) for an equity value of approximately €1.1 billion. The total consideration to shareholders is approximately €1.8 billion which includes the proceeds from the recent disposal of Airtricity’s North American business unit. Today the company has announced that this sale process with SSE has been completed.
