Sark Renewable Energy (SRE) today announced that they have joined forces with Renewable Energy Company Airtricity to develop tidal power on Sark.

Scottish and Southern Energy plc (“SSE) has been granted consent by Scottish Ministers to develop in southern Scotland a wind farm with a total capacity of up to 456MW. This wind farm will be built in two phases and, on completion will be the largest onshore wind farm in Europe.

Airtricity today announced that it has signed a joint venture agreement with Italian wind farm development company Entropya. Under the terms of the agreement, Airtricity owns 60% of the joint venture partnership and Entropya owns 40%.
